Home Nursing Care
Home nursing care in Dortmund – well looked after at home
Most people would like to be cared for in the familiar surroundings of their own home. That is exactly where we come in: with professional, compassionate nursing care right where you live (known in German as ambulante Pflege) – and with therapy from the same team whenever it is needed.

Personal care
When everyday life becomes too much to manage on your own, we support you – as much as necessary and as little as possible.
Personal care (Grundpflege) includes, for example:
- Personal hygiene, e.g. help with washing, showering and bathing
- Dressing and undressing
- Help with eating and drinking, including tube feeding
- Activating care with movement exercises
- Prevention of contractures
- Preventive care against pneumonia, pressure sores, thrombosis, falls and constipation
- Positioning and changes of position
- Help with going to the toilet and provision of continence products
Medical nursing
When prescribed by your doctor, our registered nurses provide medical care in your home (Behandlungspflege). The costs are usually covered by your health insurance.
Medical services include:
- Wound care
- Injections, e.g. insulin or thrombosis prevention
- Administering and preparing medication
- Putting on and taking off compression stockings
- Applying and removing compression bandages
- Monitoring blood sugar, blood pressure and pulse
- Catheter and stoma care
- Support with pain management
You can send us your prescription for home nursing care (Verordnung häuslicher Krankenpflege) by fax to 0231 58 69 26 03 or hand it in in person or send it by post.

Social care & household help
Your well-being and relief for your family are at the heart of what we do. That is why we offer more than nursing care.
For example:
- Walks and running errands together
- Accompanying you to doctor’s appointments
- Mental stimulation, conversation and games
- Doing household activities together
- Shopping and errands
- Preparing meals
- Cleaning your home
- Laundry
For social care and help in the home, you can use the relief allowance (Entlastungsbetrag) from your long-term care insurance (from care level 1, currently €131 per month). Unused amounts can be saved up – we will help you clarify your entitlement.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about home nursing care
What is home nursing care?
Professional nurses come to your home and provide nursing care and – when prescribed by a doctor – medical care. This allows you to stay in your familiar surroundings.
Who can receive home nursing care?
Anyone who needs support in everyday life because of age, illness or disability. Care services are billed to the long-term care insurance (Pflegekasse) if you have a care level; medical nursing is billed to your health insurance with a doctor’s prescription.
How do I get started?
Call us on 0231 58 69 26 00 or request a callback. In a free consultation, we will clarify your needs and help you with the applications.
Can I have a say in the care times?
Yes. Together with you, we draw up a care plan that fits your daily routine, and we adjust it if anything changes.
Do you also help around the house?
Yes – with shopping, cooking, cleaning and laundry. The relief allowance (Entlastungsbetrag) from your long-term care insurance can be used for this.
Are your nurses qualified?
Our nurses are trained and experienced, and they take part in regular further training. Medical nursing is carried out exclusively by registered nurses.
How is the care documented?
All care measures are documented in line with legal requirements – for transparency and seamless care.
